  Food Donation Acceptance Guidelines

James is busy checking expiration dates on donated product.

Some restrictions apply due to health and sanitation concerns, and the fact that the Foodbank follows many of the same guidelines as a commercial food distributor.

Restrictions include:

  • No open containers where the food is exposed to the air, or spilling or leaking out of the package.
  • Product must be labeled, or donor must provide complete ingredient information for the Foodbank to create labels.
  • As a general rule, no product more than 90 days past the expiration date can be accepted.
